Cyrus Boutwell (1876 - 1955) the art dealer identified on the frame verso, was a prominent art and antique dealer in Colorado for more than fifty years. At the turn of the twentieth century, Cyrus's brother, Roland, founded an arts import business, coinciding with Cyrus's tenure as Vice President of the Boutwell-Brooks Art Co. The brothers' ensuing joint enterprise, the Arts and Crafts Studio, was established by 1910 with locations in both Manitou and Denver, specializing in the import and sale of English silver, continental antiques, and fine art. He is best known for representing printmaker George Elbert Burr (American, 1959 - 1939), famous for his etchings of the American West.
