Founded in 1770 by Benjamin Cogswell, the company became Cogswell & Harrison in 1863, when Edgar Harrison joined the company. During the latter 19th Century, the company operated simultaneously out of New Bond Street and Strand, and offered fine English guns at retail. Very Good. Bore is Frosty with a deep brown patina throughout, some light pitting, and strong rifling. Metal finish with some flaking on the edges, deep brown patina forming in losses, and scattered light scratches. Grips have light handling dents. Upper left edge of the hammer has sheared off, though the firing pin remains. Grips with handling wear and scattered dents. Action shows good timing with some wiggle to lockup.
