7.7x58mm. 25.9" barrel. SN: 91159. Blued metal finish overall mounting Asian hardwood semi-pistol grip stock with factory spliced toe, and wartime simplified rear sight, barrel band, and cylindrical bolt handle. Bolt action internal magazine fed repeating rifle charged with stripper clips. Receiver shows a defaced Chrysanthemum marking above intact type marks, with left receiver showing Nagoya arsenal stamp and 6th Series marking. Serial numbers match on the receiver, bolt, extractor, cocking piece, and firing pin. Cocking piece is serrated and the bolt is cylindrical. Bore remains chrome lined. All metal components show a rough finish consistent with the more simplified finishing process of wartime Japan. Comes with a leather sling. {C&R}
Good. Bore is dirty with some residues that should clean to Minty with crisp Metford pattern rifling. Item shows a thin finish from factory with some brown patina forming on handling surfaces, thinning on the edges, and brown flecking to the magazine floorplate and triggerguard. Stock with further brown mottling. Stock has handling dents and scuffs overall. Leather sling remains supple with cracking and crazing with a flaked appearance overall.
