.32 ACP. 3.4" barrel. SN: 451941. Late war blued metal finish with checkered replaced Franzite black synthetic grips, matted upper slide, and with fixed front blade and dovetail rear notch sights. Simple blowback operated concealed hammer DA/SA autoloading pistol fed by detachable single stack magazines. Original factory markings are sparse, typical of late manufacture, and include CAL. 7,65 marking on left slide and {Eagle/N} proofs on right slide, chamber, and muzzle. Serial numbers match on slide and frame. Magazine is unmarked. The left slide has been additionally marked NSDAP./SA Gruppe Alpenland. This marking displays the correct size, font, and pattern for the late series of Sauer 38H pistols acquired by the SA, or Sturmbateilung, the military wing of the Nazi Party. The earliest reported serial number in Jan Still's "Axis Pistols" is 457618, with the latest of the four reported being 465779.  During World War II, the SA conducted numerous operations, primarily military training, with operations split into regional Gruppen. In the case of this firearm, Gruppe Alpenland, which oversaw operations in Nazi Germany's Alpine regions. A scarce firearm marked out to one of the most infamous organizations of World War II in Good condition. {C&R}

Good. Bore has some residues that should clean to Very Bright with crisp rifling throughout. Blue remains thin from factory with light edgewear, and an abrasion on the left slide. Some brown flecks on the backstrap. Some light handling marks and dents on grips. Action functions when cycled by hand.
