7.65 Luger. 3.9" barrel. SN: m1160. Parkerized metal finish with blued barrel, blued and polished small parts mounting checkered wood grips, with the right cut for a disc that has been removed. Short recoil operated striker action autoloading pistol fed by detachable single stack magazines. Toggle link shows the DWM logo with standard GESICHERT safety and GELADEN markings to frame and extractor respectively. No date marking. Left slide struck with the boxed SA logo indicating Finnish servicing. German commercial proofs to slide and breechblock. Serial numbers are mixed, typical of Finnish repaired pistols. Importer mark below barrel reads CAI ST A VT/M-23 GER. 7.65 PARA. Magazine is nickel plated with a wood base plug showing a serial number of 5577 and a further Finnish boxed SA stamp. It is believed that approximately 8,000 Luger pistols in 7.65 caliber were ordered from DWM for the Finnish military in 1923 and 1929. A further 1,500 were supplied by Mauser between 1930 and 1935. Pistols accepted for Finnish service show commercial markings, but are otherwise sparsely marked, belying the extensive use they would see in the Winter War and Continuation War. {C&R}

Good as Arsenal Refinished. Bore is Bright with crisp rifling throughout. Metal finish displays scattered scratches over the frame and barrel with markings weakened by the arsenal refinish. Takedown lever shows numerous nicks and indentation from rough usage. Grips are worn with handling wear, dents, skips and stains. Magazine with flaking finish and chipping to base plug. Safety detent is worn down and functions weakly.
