Short-recoil operated DA/SA autoloading pistol fed by detachable single stack magazines featuring lanyard loop to left frame. Left slide marked with WALTHER banner followed by Waffenfabrik Walther Zella-Mehlis (Thur)/Walther's Patent Cal. 9 m/m followed by Mod. HP marking, indicating it to be one of the first commercially produced P.38 pistols predating the later marking. Right slide shows {Eagle/359} Walther waffenamt marking. Right frame, slide, barrel, and locking lug show {Eagle/N} commercial firing proof. Serial numbers match. Magazine is a later production example with a blued finish and P.38 V model marking. {C&R}

Good. Bore is dirty with some firing residues that should clean to Very Bright with sharp rifling throughout. Metal finish with edgewear overall, some light pitting over slide, and a mottled gray to brown patina dominating on the slide and gripstrap. Nicks on the right edge of the indicator cover. Some thinning and scattered light scratches. Hammer and frame spur with brown spots. Grips have some light scratches and abrasions. Action functions when cycled by hand.
