La Banque Adam

ca 1917-1918

23 1/8 x 31 1/2 in.

An attractive World War I French poster encouraging Parisians to subscribe to war bonds at Banque Adam. The barrel of a cannon, perhaps a French 75, is aimed at the horizon where three shadowy vessels approach. The French tricolor waves proudly, and a golden sun emerges from behind striped clouds in a star-riddled sky, suggesting the coming support of American troops for the French cause.

[World War I, WWI, The Great War, First World War]  [Propaganda, Posters, Ephemera]

Some toning. Small loss to lower edge with neat repair. Minor creasing. Complete condition report available upon request.
