.450 Cal. 2.5" barrel. SN: 82532. Blued metal refinish with polished small parts, one piece checkered walnut grips, and German Silver front blade with topstrap rear notch sights. Double action six shot loading gate revolver. Left frame shows 450 caliber marking {Flying Bullet/W&S} mark followed by WEBLEY'S/{Manacled Hands}/M.P. marking. Topstrap is marked with dealer marking R. B. RODDA & CO LONDON/&7&8 DALHOUSIE SQUARE with barrel flat struck CALCUTTA. Item shows antique Birmingham proof markings and later London proofs, indicating reproofing, possibly after the firearm went back to England. Features a round cylinder with flat front ejector rod. Cylinder pin serial does not match, but the frame and cylinder do.

Adopting the name R.B. Rodda & Co sometime after 1847, the company took its name from Richard B. Rodda, a gunmaker born in Calcutta who became well known for dealing high-end arms in Colonial India. The firm imported arms from some of the most respected houses in England for purchase by throughout India. {ANTIQUE}

Good as refinished. Bore is dirty with firing residues that may clean to Bright with crisp rifling throughout. Metal finish flaking on the edges with scattered brown patinated spots and streaks overall. Some polished spots on edges of the triggerguard and lower frame. Grips with dents and scratches. Action shows inconsistent timing, and occasionally fails to index.
