[VIETNAM WAR] Non-Lettered Chinese Factory 26 Type 56 SKS Rifle

7.62x39mm. 20.5" barrel. SN: 9040651. (mfg. ca. 1964) Blued finish with bright bolt in hardwood semi-pistol grip stock with triple vented upper handguard mounting folding chrome plated "Pig-Sticker" bayonet. Short stroke gas piston driven tilting bolt semi-automatic rifle fed by an internal magazine charged with stripper clips. Markings include the Triangle 26 mark to left receiver of Factory 26 followed by Chinese type markings. Standard Cyrillic battle sight mark on rear sight leaf with arsenal stamps on barrel shank and forward receiver. Serial numbers match. Stock has been sanded and the rifle shows handling wear consistent with examples captured in Vietnam. No importer marks visible. Serial number in the 9 million range corresponds to a production year of 1964 with the rifle showing the correct spike bayonet and configuration. Neither the barrel nor the gas tube are chrome lined. {C&R}

Fair to Good. Bore is primarily Bright with some light pitting near muzzle and strong rifling throughout. Further shows brown patina forming through gas tube and gas port. Retains some blue below the gas tube and at seams but dominated by a brown patina overall with some scattered light pitting and handling abrasions. Stock has been sanded during use with beading to the finish, some scratches, and dents overall.
