7.62x25mm. 4.6" barrel. SN: 1951-21-002695. Dipped blued metal finish overall with vertically serrated black Bakelite grips featuring {Star} design without initials. Short recoil operated single action autoloading pistol fed by detachable box magazines and mounting fixed front blade with drift adjustable rear notch sights. Left slide struck with a production year of 1951 followed by the 21 marking. The same marks precede the serial number on the slide, but the serial numbers are mixed. Right triggerguard and barrel lug are stamped 10, indicating Bulgarian inspection and completion. Item was never fitted with an import safety lever, and comes with a magazine showing the correct manufacturing method of a fold and series of spot welds. Magazine floorplate is marked B1/825. Fire control group serial number matches the frame. Though this pattern was previously identified as a rare Bulgarian produced pistol, in reality the Tokarevs in the Bulgarian arsenal were either manufactured under contract in other countries or, as in this case, assembled from parts produced elsewhere. It is estimated that less than 3000 handguns were assembled in Bulgaria using Romanian parts, making this pistol a scarce find. The absence of an import safety suggests it may have been a bringback, but it lacks papers. {C&R}

Good to Very Good. Bore is Very Bright with sharp rifling throughout. Metal finish thinning on the edges of the slide and frame with scattered light scratches. Some light pitting to slide. Some light handling marks on grips. Magazine with insertion wear and scattered brown flecking.
