A Tiger Chewing Tobacco canister for its Bright Sweet variety, most likely from the turn of the century. While the artwork has faded some, a tiger's head can still be clearly seen on the canister's front. The canister also still proudly boasts that Tiger Chewing Tobacco is "The Largest Selling Brand of / FINE CUT / in the World," as well as that its tobacco is only 5 cents a package.
P. Lorillard Tobacco Company, modernly known as Lorillard Inc., was one of the longest-running American tobacco companies, having existed from 1760 to 2015. Tiger Chewing Tobacco was only one of the company's most famous brands — Lorillard Inc. also created several different brands of cigarettes, including Old Gold and Newport. Lorillard Inc. was purchased by Reynolds American Inc., the second-largest American tobacco company, in 2015.
