A group of three (3) Revolutionary War promissory notes from the State of Connecticut. Items include: 

 

1. Partly printed document signed by Oliver Wolcott. Connecticut, 26 April 1783. 1 page, 6 5/8 x 5 1/2 in. Docketed to verso.

 

A promissory note for Captain Charles Miel for £10. Served under Colonel Samuel Canfield (see #2). His service included some of the most notable battles of the Revolution, including the Battles of Lexington and the Battle of Bunker Hill. Notably, he was encamped at Valley Forge as a part of Washington's forces in the winter of 1777-1778.  

 

2. Partly printed document signed by Oliver Wolcott and William Morseley. Connecticut, 23 May 1783. 1 page, 6 1/2 x 5 7/8 in. Docketed to verso.

 

A promissory note for Colonel Samuel Canfield for £21. An officer during the Revolutionary War, he subsequently served in the state legislature. He was also part of the group that went to Sharon to suppress Shay's Rebellion. 

 

3. Partly printed document signed by Eliazer Wales and William Morseley. Connecticut, 16 October 1783. 1 page, 6 1/2 x 5 1/4  in. Docketed to verso.

 

A promissory note for Colonel Benjamin Richards for £5. An officer of the 2nd Brigade, 28th Regiment, which had been formed in January 1780. 

 

A nice grouping of attractive Connecticut promissory notes.
