Document signed by Frederick North, Lord North (1732-1792), Charles Townshend (1725-1767) and others. N.p., 7 July 1777. 2 pages, 7 13/16 x 8 5/16 in.

 

An Order by the Commissioner of the British Treasury to pay the quarterly salaries for six men "as Commoners for executing the Office of Treasurer of his Majesty's Exchequer," including Frederick Lord North, George Baron Cranley & Onslow, Francis Conway, Lord Viscount Beauchamp, Charles Wolfran Cornwall, Charles Townshend, and William Henry Baron Westcote. The total sum totals just over £2,000. The verso records the full sum and is signed by all six. 

 

A fine document with several important signatures of key figures during the Revolutionary period.
