A rare antisemitic and anti-Communist poster suggesting that the Communist International (Comintern) was a Jewish-controlled council. Stalin greets the obsequious American President Franklin Roosevelt and British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, gesturing broadly to the Comintern meeting table, now empty. The tablecloth is decorated with the hammer-and-sickle insignia, while the chairs all bear Stars of David. Meanwhile, the hidden council consults their papers, bedecked with a Star of David and a sickle & hammer, that reads (in translation): "Plans for the Bolshevikization of England and America."
Communist International (Comintern) was a Marxist organization that aimed to spread revolutionary socialism and overthrow capitalism worldwide. In an act of appeasement ot his Western allies, Stalin unilaterally dissolved the organization on 15 May 1943.
The design may have presaged the dissolution of the Comintern and have been displayed in the "Grand Anti-Masonic Exhibition" that ran from 22 October 1941 until 19 January 1942 in Belgrade, in Nazi-occupied Serbia. The exhibition was financed by the Germans with the support of collaborationist leader Milan Nedić and organized by former members of the fascist Yugoslav National Movement (Zbor).
The title of the exhibition sought to expose alleged Judeo-Masonic and Communist conspiracies for world domination. Artworks were virulently antisemitic, dehumanizing Jews and seeking to justify their extermination. Included as part of the exhibition, over 60,000 copies of 20 different posters were also distributed to Serbians.
