9mm Para. 4.9" barrel. SN: 7791k. (mfg. ca. 1946) Phosphate finish to metal parts mounting varnished pressed steel grips and standard dovetailed front blade and rear notch sights. Short-recoil operated DA/SA autoloading pistol fed by detachable single stack magazines mounting a lanyard loop to left butt. Slide shows svw/46 mark indicating it was made by Mauser under French occupation in 1946, along with P.38 model mark. Forward frame struck with number 18 rack number, a {Star} inspection mark on right slide and locking lug, and {Sunburst BH} mark on left frame. Magazine shows a phosphate finish with some varnish on floorplate and P.38 V mark.  {C&R}

Good to Very Good. Bore is Bright with sharp rifling throughout. Metal finish with some residue in cocking serrations, flaking finish on grips, and loss of varnish on the frame and grips. Grips have brown patina forming in losses on the edges of the grips. Grips do not fit flush together along backstrap, with left panel fitting proud of right.
