A large collection of approximately 31 newspapers from the first half of the 19th century, from 1822 through 1859. The periodicals cover a wide variety of political topics and social issues. Issues include: 

 

1. The True American. Two issues. Vol. XXI, No. 1090 and Vol XXVII, No. 1403. Trenton, New Jersey: James J. Wilson, 19 January 1822 and 8 December 1827. 2 pages only, folio, 13 ½ x 21 ⅜ in. 

 

1822 issue includes an article celebrating the 7th anniversary of the Victory at New Orleans and reports on piracy.
