Active in Santa Fe from the late 1870s through the mid-1880s following his tenure with the Wheeler Survey, W. Henry Brown produced an essential visual baseline of New Mexico during the arrival of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway. His carefully framed compositions capture the territorial capital prior to late-19th-century brick and Victorian modernization, preserving the pure vernacular earth and timber architecture of the Spanish colonial and Mexican eras.

[Stereoview, Stereocard, RPPC, Real Photo Postcard, Santa Fe, New Mexico Territory, W. Very good condition overall. The albumen prints retain strong tones and sharp resolution, exhibiting minor scattered foxing, light surface soil, and typical corner bumping to the card mounts.
