An important group of stereoviews documenting Ute camp life and material culture in Colorado during the 1870s, photographed by William Henry Jackson (1843-1942) during his tenure with the Hayden Geological Survey and his operation of the Denver studio. Jackson's images preserve essential details of late-nineteenth-century Ute lodge construction, trade blankets, and family life prior to widespread relocation.
