Single shot muzzleloading flintlock pistol wtih dished notch rear sight, brass blade front sight and captive swivel ramrod. Lock marked in four lines with an "{Eagle Head} / A. WATERS / MIBURY, MS. / 1837." Breech marked "U.S. / JH / P". Counterpane with two crisp script cartouches, the "JH" of Joseph Hannis and the "MPL" of Ordnance Officer Mann Page Lomax. Small sub-insepction marks are found throughout. Lock remains in original flint with matching mating marks throughout. A really fine condition example of the last of the US single shot flintlock martial pistols and the primary side arm in use by the US military during the Mexican American War. {ANTIQUE}

Very Fine. Bore very good, moderatley oxidized and with some lightly scattered pitting. Metal with a dull pewter patina and clear markings. Mecahnically funcitonal lock remains in original flint. Stock fine and crisp wtih sharp edges and clear markings and some lightly scattered minor dings, dents and marks.
