An 1843 roster for the ship New York from the Port of New Orleans, captained by William Hickling with William Buckholdt as his First Mate. The document notes that they were sailing from New Orleans and were bound for Vera Cruz, with the option of going to "four of five posts as the Master may direct". The crew was completed with a Second mate, Carpenter, Cook, Steward, and 10 Seamen. Notably, the document contains two bold admonitions at the top: "No liberty days while in Port" and "No Grog Allowed."
