Born in Soviet Armenia, Yuri Gevorgian (known professionally as Yuroz) is a contemporary painter and sculptor recognized for his stylized, emotionally resonant figurative works. He began his formal training at age ten at the Akop Kodjoyan School of Art in Yerevan before graduating from the Yerevan University of Art and Architecture.

Yuroz’s background in architecture deeply informs his art, visible in the structured geometry, bold lines, and balanced compositions of his figures. Often depicting lovers, musicians, and everyday people, his work synthesizes classical narrative themes with a distinct, modern cubist-expressionist aesthetic.
