Very rare sixth plate thermoplastic case featuring a profile bust portrait of a man. (Berg 1-111). Housing a sixth plate daguerreotype portrait of a woman wearing a lace bonnet.
An extremely rare and sought-after thermoplastic case. Featuring a profile bust portrait of a man. Berg declines to identify the subject. Rex Stark speculates that it may be Napoleon Bonaparte (Rex Stark Americana, Catalog 50, 788, illustrated in appendix). We think Bonaparte or Julius Caesar is the likely subject.
The first copy of this scarce case that we have ever encountered. The only other examples found are the Berg and Rex Stark examples listed above.
