An interesting view of two women in profile, holding their babies to face the photographer's lens. Each woman has their hair pulled back and is clad in similar plaid-printed calico dresses with laced collars. A beautiful cameo is fastened on the collar of the woman on the right. The babies, whose faces are obscured from movement, are dressed in identical white christening gowns, perhaps indicating the occasion of the photograph.
