The view is enhanced by delicate tinting added by hand. Dressed in a sharp plaid jacket with a scarf tied around his neck, the boy's ensemble is completed with a hat firmly set upon his head. His dog fits perfectly beside him, with his spotted paws lounging in view over the front of the chair. His head is slightly blurred, though his attention is generally directed toward the photographer's lens.
