Sixth plate quarter length studio portrait ambrotype. N.p., [ca. mid-19th century]. Full leatherette case.

An excellent three-quarter view of a leather maker, posed in the process of his craft. He is dressed in a white shirt with rolled up cuffs with a bowtie, trousers, and suspenders. His hands are holding firm a tool of his trade as he pauses while in the process of working with a large piece of hide. A fascinating view of a craftsman at work.
