Full plate thermoplastic case featuring "Washington Crossing the Delaware". [Massachusetts]: [Littlefield, Parsons & Co.] With original burgundy velvet pad and brass mat. (Berg 1-2, 3-1; Krainik 2).

One of the finest and most sought-after whole plate thermoplastic Union cases. Produced by Littlefield, Parsons, and Company. Its die engravers were Frederick B. Smith and Hermann Hartmann, who were inspired by the original painting by Emanuel Leutze.
