Ninth plate waist-up studio portrait daguerreotype. N.p., n.d. Full oyster case with tortoiseshell pattern, lacquered floral motifs, and brass hinge. Gilt to interior.
Ninth plate daguerreotype of a child seated with a sleeping cat on their lap. This daguerreotype is housed in a beautiful oyster case, an uncommon material compared to the thermoplastic and leatherette of the era. A nice addition to those collecting early photographs.
