Handsome lot of three (3) cased daguerreotypes, comprising one (1) quarter-plate and two (2) sixth-plates, each housed in original velvet-lined leatherette cases, ca. 1848-1855.

This lot includes:
1. Sixth plate half-length studio portrait daguerreotype featuring hand-tinted details. This study in left profile captures a stylish young gentleman with curled hair, chin-strap beard, and sideburns. He is attired in a tailored broadcloth overcoat with a velvet collar and high winged shirt collar, accented by a broad, exuberant cravat delicately hand-tinted in coral pink with fine gilded knot detailing. Housed under an arched and scalloped gilt brass mat with patterned preserver in a full leatherette case with crimson silk pad.
2. Quarter plate full-length studio portrait of three gentleman. Rare outdoor or skylight-studio full-length group portrait of three formally attired gentlemen posed side by side against a neutral wall. The central, diminutive figure sports a chin beard and dark three-piece sack suit, flanked by two taller companions wearing frock coats, broad bow ties, and pocket watch chains. Housed under a rectangular foliate brass mat and matching floral preserver in a full leatherette case with deep plum velvet pad.
3. Sixth plate seated studio portrait daguerreotype of a gentleman. This view of an elegant young man shows him resting his forearm on an armchair, wearing a dark double-breasted frock coat, white linen, and an expansive knotted dark silk cravat. Posed against a soft, painted landscape backdrop of foliage and clouds. Housed under an ornate multi-lobed foliate brass mat in a full leatherette case with rose silk pad.
