A painting featuring an interesting combination of international styles. At the center are two figures, a sumo wrestler in the style of 18th-century Japanese ukiyo-e prints who stands behind a nude indigenous Cuban woman who mimics his wide stance and grasps a samurai sword. At their feet is the head of a European man, perhaps a conquistador, colonizer, or even Jesus Christ. The work invites speculation on the relationship between the distant cultures and imperialism, colonialism, and religion.
