A cabinet card copy of the "Chancellorsville Portrait" of Lt. Gen. Thomas, which was taken a week before he was mortally wounded by friendly fire at the Battle of Chancellorsville. Jackson died on 10 May 1863 in Guinea Station, Virginia, from pneumonia complications. He is buried in Oak Grove Cemetery in Lexington, Virginia.
