Sixth plate hand-gilt tintype full-length soldier's portrait. Half leatherette case with American flag.
A fine soldier's portrait. The young man stands and holds his rifle with a bayonet before a camp backdrop. His buttons, cap fitting, breast plate, and waist belt plate have all been hand-gilt by the photographer.
WITH New Jersey Civil War veteran's two-piece metal badge. Suspension badge bears "1861" and "1865" flanking the State Seal of New Jersey. Reverse stamped "1927." Suspended disc features an armed soldier before an American flag and a cannon with the perimeter legend: "Ready to Die for the Honor of Our Country". Reverse of pendant reads; "Presented by the State of / New Jersey / To / Veteran / of the Union Forces / in the / Civil War / 1861-1865."
A fine pairing of a New Jersey soldier.
