Silk dress worn by Mrs. General Forrest trimmed with matching hemline, cuff, and back pleating. Bodice is lined with cloth buttons and fashioning in a "V" lined design in front and back. The detached skirt component is of matching trim design and fabric. Shoulder approx. 16 1/2 in., sleeve 21in., waist 9 1/2 in., skirt 34 1/2 x 32in.(clasped).
Provenance: Purchased directly from the Forrest family along with the General's sword and his personal affects. Confirmed with a handwritten note by the granddaughter of the Forrests which reads "Grandmother N. B. Forrest dresses."
