A fine collection of Civil War military implements and accouterments, including:

1. Excavated smooth-face canteen.

Brown / amber-toned lacquer has been liberally applied to the entire surface. There are traces of a museum identification label.

2. Confederate copper fuse plug 12-pounder shell.

This example lacks an obvious side plug. The surface appears to have been lacquered.

3. Excavated m1859 U.S. cavalry horse bit.

The surface is completely lacquered, with deep patination and spots of rust beneath. This example retains its original rein guides. The brass bosses are clearly stamped "US."

4. Civil War era U.S. Navy 1-pounder wooden tompion.

Marked to the underside with a "US" and anchor insignia above "No. 2."

5. Set of small round wheel box spurs.

Additionally, this lot includes a number of small dug relics: ten (10) bullets of various caliber, three (3) flattened bullets, two (2) cartridge box fasteners, one (1) triangular knapsack hook, one (1) partial musket tool, one (1) piece of cartridge box leather with 2 rivets, one (1) 4-holed harmonica reed, a brass sewing machine guide, two (2) 11mm lead balls, two (2) 7.5 mm lead balls, five (5) infantry "I" buttons, fifteen (15) general staff buttons, one (1) button without decipherable markings, one (1) partial inscribed screw, and five (5) unidentified metal relics.
