.44 caliber. 7.5" octagon to round barrel. SN: 9322 (mfg. ca. 1850). Blued and color casehardened finish, brass backstrap and triggerguard, one-piece smooth walnut grip. Single action percussion revolver with six-chambered unfluted cylinder, hammer nose notch rear sight, German silver blade front sight, toggle link loading lever and square back triggerguard. One line barrel address reads "- ADDRESS SAML COLT NEW-YORK CITY -", with the lower left of the frame marked in two lines "COLT'S / PATENT." All visible serial numbers match, with the wedge unnumbered. Cylinder with much of the roll engraved Texas Ranger & Indian fight scene and the "MODEL U.S.M.R." and "COLT'S PATENT" panels still mostly visible. Small single letter sub-inspections are present throughout and a fairly clear script "SK" (Samuel Knous) inspection cartouche is present on the left side of the grip. The right side shows the weak traces of a script "WAT" (William Anderson Thornton) final inspection cartouche. An attractive example of a desirable 2nd Model Dragoon revolver in better condition than these guns are normally encountered in. {ANTIQUE}

Very Good. Bore dark and heavily oxidized with some scattered pitting and good rifling. Metal moderately oxidized with a mostly mottled plum and brown patina with scattered light surface roughness and some minor pitting. Frame with some traces of dull and faded case colors. Cylinder with much of the scene and panel intact. Markings remain fairly clear and crisp throughout. Three safety pins remain intact on the rear face of the cylinder. Mechanically functional action. Grip with moderate wear, scattered bumps, dings and mars, some chipping along the sharp edges and one good and one weak cartouche.
