For President Jefferson Davis, of MississippiFor Vice President Alexander H. Stephens, of Georgia. Printed electoral ticket. [Virginia], [1861]. Signed to verso. 3 3/8 x 5 in.

 

An electoral ticket for the first and only Confederate presidential election held. Davis and Stephens ran unopposed to continue in the roles they had been serving in provisionally since February 1861. Printed in Virginia, the ticket also includes 18 additional men listed for the state at large. The verso is signed by a voter, consistent with other known examples of the ticket.
