Pair of engraved cufflinks. Diam. 18 mm. Obverse left cufflink engraved with “TWILL LIVE IN SONG & STORY” with the Battle Flag of the Army of Northern Virginia. Obverse right cufflink engraved with “TWILL LIVE IN SONG & STORY” with the Third National Confederate Flag. Reverse of both stamped with “UCV” jeweler’s mark.

A pair of cufflinks almost certainly made to coincide with a United Confederate Veterans reunion in the early 20th century. Each is engraved to one side of a Barber dime. Other examples with the battle flag of the Army of Northern Virginia were found on dimes from 1902-1905, likely dating the creation to around 1905. This unique pair was turned into a cufflink set, possibly by a veteran or proud family member. Notably, no other examples with the Third National Flag were found at the time of cataloging.
