.36 Cal. 7.5" barrel. SN: 92598. (Mfg. ca. 1859) Blued finish with casehardened frame and silver plated brass gripstraps mounting one piece walnut grip and German Silver front blade sight. Single action six-chamber percussion revolver with loading gate to frame. Single line address to octagonal barrel reads -ADDRESS SAML COLT HARTFORD CT.- with left frame struck COLTS/PATENT. Left triggerguard struck with G stamp. Faint traces of Ormsby's Naval Engagement scene. Serial numbers match on gripstraps, frame, barrel, arbor pin, cylinder, and loading lever. Wedge pin is replaced and force matched. Wedge pin screw is a modern replacement. Loading lever latch with period repair and wedge mounted upside down. {Antique}
Good. Bore is Frosty with scattered pitting and strong rifling. Metal finish primarily a deep brown patina with rounded edges indicative of buffing at some point. Some traces of blue on barrel flanks and traces of case colors on loading lever and interior frame. Rear face of barrel has been buffed down with some material added on forward edge of the frame to match. Further traces of silver with tarnish on gripstraps, which are otherwise buffed. Grips heavily sanded with handling wear and dents. Barrel crown is split. Cylinder safety notches have sheared off. Nipples in various states of disrepair and shattering. Action
