Original CDV Album with three (3) identified albumen CDVs and thirty (30) identified gem-sized tintypes, almost all who are noted as soldiers of the 95th Ohio Volunteers Infantry. Embossed leather with brass clasps measuring approx. 4 1/2 x 5 3/4 inch. A complete listing of images below. 

 

Exceptional album containing identified photographs of the soldiers of the 95th Ohio Volunteers Infantry, which was formed as a regiment at Camp Chase, Ohio in 19 August 1862. Primarily serving in the Western Theater of the American Civil War, the regiment engaged in battles at Vicksburg, Brice’s Roads, and the Battle of Nashville. Mustering out on 19 August 1865 in Louisville, Kentucky, the regiment would suffer heavy losses throughout their service. The album features thirty (3) quality images of soldiers of the regiment, seventeen of which were taken as prisoners of war at Andersonville. These images are identified in period ink to the bottom CDV-sized mount the tintypes are affixed to.
