[Drafted.] Outdoor albumen CDV. Utica, New York: W.C. North, ca August 1863. Photographer's imprint to verso. Ink title inscription to recto. Ink inscription in German to mount verso. With a modern copy of an order regarding drafting in Utica, New York.

An interesting and uncommon view showing a large crowd of people in the streets of Utica in response to the draft in New York. A copy document indicates that the Utica draft occurred in late August 1863. While New York City erupted into riots, Utica complied much more peaceably with the orders.
