A discharge document for William Laeket (alt. Locket) of Kentucky. Described here as "5 feet 7 inches high, black complexion, black eyes, black hair, and by occupation, when enrolled, a farmer."
He enlisted on 18 January 1864 at Nashville and was mustered in as a first sergeant of Company F in the 15th United States Colored Regiment. The unit mostly engaged in garrison and guard duty in Middle Tennessee, including at Nashville, Columbia, Pulaski, and Springfield.
