Attention Volunteers Wanted! Able-Bodied Men to Fill Up Company C, 131st Regiment Penn'a Vol. Broadside printed in red & black. [Philadelphia?, Pennsylvania]: N.p., [1861?]. Signed in type by 1st Lieut. I.M. Burrows and 2nd Liut. W.W. Watt. Visible 13 3/4 x 20 1/2 in., framed to 15 3/4 x 22 1/2 in.

A fine and graphic recruitment poster advertising the 131st Pennsylvania Infantry. Though named as commanders, Col. Elisha W. Davis and Captain Charles F. Robertson were officers who actually commanded the 121st Pennsylvania Infantry.

The 121st Pennsylvania was organized in Philadelphia in August and September 1861 before moving south to fight at several major battles, including Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, and Gettysburg, where they fought at Seminary Ridge and Cemetery Ridge. Their service remained hard-fought as they joined the Overland Campaign, the Siege of Petersburg, and the Appomattox Campaign.

The 131st Pennsylvania was a 9-month regiment that fought at Fredericksburg and Chancellorsville.
