.455/476. 6" barrel. SN: 19334. Deep English blued metal finish with hammer, trigger, and small parts in the white mounting German Silver front blade sight and checkered walnut two piece grips. Double action top break six-shot revolver with automatic ejection and lanyard loop to butt. Item shows "WG" ARMY MODEL marking to left topstrap, ENGLAND exporter mark to left barrel, .455/.476 caliber mark to left underlug, and WEBLEY / PATENTS {Flying Bullet Logo} to left frame. Retailer mark to barrel rib reads MANTON & CO. LONDON & CALCUTTA. Original Birmingham firing proofs to all major parts with later London firing proofs applied during reproofing. Serial numbers match on frame, barrel, cylinder, and grips.

Manton & Co was a gunmaker and outfitter founded by the legendary Manton family of gunmakers. Despite the Mantons occasionally operating multiple establishments under similar names, the family became known for dealing in some of the very highest quality arms in Britain. The markings on this revolver suggest it may have been sold in India, and saw some service there before being returned and reproofed in the United Kingdom. {C&R}

Very Good. Bore is dirty with some residues that should clean to bright with crisp rifling throughout. Metal finish thinning over the cylinder with edgewear overall, scattered nicks to the edges of the metalwork, and assorted scratches around screw heads on sideplate. Mottled brown patina forming on hammer, trigger, and gripstraps. Grips show handling wear and dents, a crack forming through the escutcheon on the left panel, and chips to the forward toes of each. Mechanically functional. Action shows good timing.
