Johnny Bench Signed Baseball with “HOF 89 ACT 99” Inscription and 1968 Topps Rookie Card

An appealing pairing honoring one of the greatest catchers in baseball history, comprising a Johnny Bench signed baseball together with his celebrated 1968 Topps Rookie Stars card.

The baseball is boldly signed “Johnny Bench” across a side panel and additionally inscribed “HOF 89 ACT 99,”commemorating two of the defining honors of his extraordinary career: his induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1989 and his selection to Major League Baseball’s All-Century Team in 1999.

Accompanying the ball is Bench’s 1968 Topps Rookie Stars card, No. 247, picturing the young Cincinnati catcher alongside pitcher Ron Tompkins. One of the most recognizable rookie cards of the postwar era, it marks the beginning of Bench’s remarkable 17-season career with the Cincinnati Reds. Bench became the cornerstone of the celebrated “Big Red Machine,” earning 14 All-Star selections, 10 Gold Glove Awards and two National League Most Valuable Player Awards while helping Cincinnati capture consecutive World Series championships in 1975 and 1976.

Together, the inscribed baseball and rookie card provide an attractive bookend to Bench’s career—from his emergence as a young Cincinnati star to his eventual recognition among the greatest players of the 20th century.
